Spread over 9,300 acres, Tettegouche State Park offers a wide variety of things to do and see. Home to the mouth of the Baptism river, Tettegouche has multiple rivers and parks to explore and is a hiker’s paradise with miles of trails only accessible by foot.

1. Visit the waterfalls and lakes: Grab your swimsuit and take a hike to the High Falls waterfall, the highest waterfall located entirely within Minnesota. The park also contains six inland lakes great for northern pike and walleye fishing.

2. Take a hike: the park contains 22 miles of hiking trails that overlook the SawTooth Mountains and are in close proximity of the inland lakes. Enjoy a day filled with beautiful views.

3. Enjoy the wildlife: common wildlife observed at the park include the white-tail deer, hawks, red squirrel, snowshoe hare, and many more. Moose, black bear, and the occasional northern flying squirrel have even been seen roaming the park.

4. Enjoy rock climbing: Break out your rock climbing gear and enjoy some spectacular views.Tettegouche is one of the few parks located around Lake Superior that offers rock climbing.

5. Take a picnic: grab a lunch and visit one of the four picnic areas located within the park. Many provide grills and shelter for hikers looking for a spot to relax.
